Organic and biodynamic farming are the cornerstones of this winery's work philosophy. They aim to create balance between the natural habitat and all of the flora and fauna which inhabit it. The energy coming from the moon and the earth determine their calendar of work in the vineyard and the cellar. They believe and respect nature and its balance. Massana Noya wines and cavas convey the passion of their work in the land where the family was born. Their varieties are Macabeo, Xarello, Parellada, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Moscat, Viognier, Chardonnay.
From a very tender age, Eudald Massana dreamed about making wine, bottling it and striving for it to be the very best. By following in the footsteps of nine generations, that dream has now become a reality and as Eudald explains “managing the winery is a commitment and a source of pride“.
The story of this wine estate is firmly rooted to the land and to the art of winegrowing. It requires constant effort to build a solid foundation for the future of a winery which embodies the essence of the Penedès winegrowing and winemaking tradition. The Penedès is situated in an ideal territory midway between Barcelona and Tarragona, between the sea and the mountains. The landscape is warm, harmonious and full of Mediterranean light, where, depending on where you stand, you can see the sea, the Pyrenees or the famous mountains of Montserrat. This harmony would not be complete without its defining feature: the vineyards.
The uniqueness of each soil type must be treated individually. For this reason, they plant different grape varieties on different types of soil. In general, the estate soils are comprised of clay, chalk, gravel, and sand.
Winegrowing is what gives the Penedès region its identity, and the people of Massa Noya have worked and will continue working to preserve it. This is simply their lifetime commitment.

The art of growing vines and making wine is a gratifying subject both to learn and to teach others. The vineyards which surround the farmhouse and cellar where they process their wines are the perfect learning ground where theory and practice merge together. They give to their vines personal treatment because each and every one of them is unique and can give us something different.
